Bill Wilson

Bill is a Director of Bankside Law and is head of the criminal practice. Drawing on his previous experience as a detective inspector and subsequent work defending all general criminal matters, Bill has extensive experience defending individuals and corporate bodies within both the investigation and prosecution stages of allegations brought by a variety of different agencies, including the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the Department of Business & Regulatory Reform (BERR), and the Police. 

Many of Bill's cases have been extremely high profile, with many having hit the headlines in the national press and television. His work has included a number of murder cases, large scale conspiracies, robberies (including the Heathrow gold bullion case), and high value money laundering, corruption and international drug trafficking cases. He also has experience defending in cases including terrorism, computer crime and airline ticketing frauds and has extensive forensic and interview technique experience.

Bill is a supervisor of the Specialist Fraud Panel and is a member of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors' Association (LCCSA) and the International Bar Association (IBA).
